4-seater Convertibles

Although it is true that in their time they enjoyed a great reception by the market, now the offer is somewhat more limited, although the good thing is that they are present in all sizes and price ranges

They are taken as very luxurious sports cars. Although the two-seater roadster are the most emblematic, practically every range of cars for private use has versions without a roof. What are the most popular 4-seater convertibles?

Almost forgotten and misunderstood

In the early days of the automotive industry, cars were produced, ‘by default’, without a roof. Despite the arrival of the saloons and the rest of the bodywork that turned the cabins into closed spaces, convertibles held a privileged place among the preferences of drivers for decades. However, since the 1970s, its demand has been progressively decreasing.

The first blow was received in the United States, when their security was harshly questioned. Later, progressively they began to be branded as ‘unnecessary whims’, part of the ‘superfluous expenses’ generated by the wildest capitalism.

Although what really marked the decline not so much in the number of units sold, but in their production, was the fact that they are not sold in China. The quality of the air in the big cities of the yellow giant makes it impossible to circulate in a car without a roof. Lacking demand within this market, most of the big brands began to put them aside.

Despite not being fashionable, a cabrio always looks good. In summer, spring and fall, driving and traveling aboard these machines with the cool breeze as your companion, creates an unbeatable sensation. In winter it is not unreasonable to circulate with the sky as a witness.

In addition to the ‘traditional’ sports two-seater, there are 4-seater convertibles of almost all sizes, even all-wheel drive off-road models. This allows outdoor driving to be taken well beyond the asphalt. Among the most outstanding models of automotive today, the following stand out:

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Convertible
