Alfa Romeo Stelvio, The Elegance Of SUVs
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is a D-segment car produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo. This car is Alfa Romeo’s first commercial off-road SUV and went on sale in 2016. Its name comes from the road that runs through the highest mountain pass in Italy.
In terms of safety, this car obtained a remarkable 5-star Euro NCAP score , with no less than 97% effectiveness in protecting adult occupants.
Design
The design of this SUV is a perfect blend of elegance, ruggedness and, of course, power. It comprises the split of the bumper with the iconic ‘V’ shaped shield and beautiful elongated headlights.
At the back, it has matching headlights, a small visor on the rear glass and a black bumper with double exhaust and four exhausts in the Quadrifoglio Verde version.
Regarding the interior, its dashboard has a central button panel for the control of the air conditioning, emergency lights and the air conditioning outputs, as well as a 6.5-inch touch screen. On the driver’s side you can see the steering wheel buttons for certain car functions.
On the driver’s panel are two analog gauges, a digital gauge, and a light control keypad on the far left of the dash. The air conditioning outlets come in two shapes: the outlets at the ends are round in shape and the center panel outlets have a more conventional shape.
Motorization
The Alfa Romeo has a varied engine, in ranges both diesel and gasoline for the European continent. It mounts a gasoline engine of 2.0 liters of four cylinders of 200 or 280 CV of maximum power.
The Quadrifoglio Verde version has a 2.9-liter biturbo engine and a power of 510 hp, which makes it the most powerful version on the European continent.
In its diesel versions it offers only 2.2-liter 150, 180 and 210 hp engines. The 180 hp version has the option of equipping 4 × 4 traction and the 210 hp version only has this traction.
Alfa Romeo Stelvio First Edition
This is a special edition for the launch of the car and has a luxury equipment. It mounts 20-inch wheels, xenon headlights, chrome window frames, heated Fiore leather seats , wooden details in the interior and the touch screen is 8 inches.
However, unlike its brother, the Quadrifoglio Verde, it has a simpler motorization, but it is still powerful. The engine of the First Edition is 280 hp of maximum power, more powerful than the other versions of the Stelvio.
Alfa Romeo Matta and Alfa Romeo 156 Crosswagon Q4
It is true that the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is the first SUV of the Italian brand, but during the Second World War, between 1951 and 1954, the brand produced a military SUV called the Alfa Romeo 1900 Matta.
Its engine was a 1.9-liter with 65 hp of maximum power. It also had a civilian version, but its concept was a multipurpose one produced with simple but durable technologies.
Also, in the year 2000 a family car was presented that featured four-wheel drive and four-, five- and six-speed automatic transmission; and five- and six-speed manual transmission.
Price
The Stelvio price range is quite wide, but with quite high costs as it is a top-of-the-range car. The gasoline versions are from about 47,500 to 55,400 euros.
Those with diesel engines start to trade from 45,400 euros to 52,100 euros. The Stelvio First Edition is priced at 62,000 euros and the QV version about 104,000 euros.
This car offers a lot in this new era of Alfa Romeo, combining not only a beautiful and imposing appearance, but also great performance. It is undoubtedly the right option if you are looking for a spacious, powerful and, above all, luxurious car.
