The utility of the Romanian brand of the Renault Group offers a vehicle with sufficient luggage compartment and interior space, a fair equipment and a decent level of safety at a very contained price
Dacia Sandero, an economical compact

The Dacia Sandero is a passenger car belonging to the B segment, designed by Renault in conjunction with its Romanian subsidiary, Dacia. It was put into production in 2007 after the success of the Dacia Logan.

It is a car created under the low cost philosophy, with five seats and five doors, it has a hatchback body, with a transverse front engine and front wheel drive. Despite being a very different car from the Dacia Logan, it shares great similarity in terms of engine and mechanics.

Its commercialization began in Romania and continued to the United Kingdom to position itself, as expected, as one of the most accessible cars on the market. This generation manages to obtain a 4-star award in EuroNCAP, which suggests that it is a safe car for its occupants.

Functional but functional design

This car has a front similar to the Dacia Logan, with square and slightly elongated lamps. The rest of the car’s design is simple, but attractive angles can be found, especially at the rear.

It was launched with the Base, Ambiance and Laureate finishes as in the previous generation and also includes a Stepway variant, a great seller with good equipment.

The equipment has just the right thing; the Base version has only four airbags, ESP, ABS, power steering and tire pressure sensor. If you want air conditioning, tires, on-board computer or Bluetooth, you have to turn to the Ambiance or Laureate finishes, which are clearly more expensive.

In the cabin continues to emphasize its spaciousness, there are slightly more refined finishes and a steering wheel with a renewed design. There is no change in the size of its 320-liter capacity trunk, a very good size for its small size. However, the finishes are not of as good quality as those of other alternatives in the segment.

Motorization

Regarding its mechanics, it has two gasoline options: it can be chosen with a SCE 1.0 with 75 CV or the 0.9 TCE with 90 CV. Also, there is a variant of the 90 horsepower engine that can run on LPG, but at a somewhat higher price.

As for the diesel, we find as an option the 1.5-liter dCi of 75 hp and 90 hp. They are associated with a manual gearbox, but the more powerful versions can be chosen with a piloted manual gearbox, called Easy R.

Dacia Sandero follows the range of economy cars

The Sandero price section is quite low, as it is based on Dacia’s low cost philosophy . It starts to trade for less than 7,000 euros to about 11,000, which depends on the trim level and the engine chosen, in the case of gasoline blocks.

The alternative fuel range (LPG)  can be found from around 9,500 to 10,600 euros. On the other hand, diesel engines are always more expensive and their prices start at around 9,000 euros and go up to around 12,700.

The Dacia Sandero follows the success of its brother, the Dacia Logan. Thanks to the aforementioned low-cost philosophy, it offers a fairly simple product, but safe for its occupants.

If you are looking for a car at a good price, with the right comforts, the Dacia Sandero joins the list of cars that you should consider. If you’re interested in something with a little more potential to get out of town, we recommend the Sandero Stepway range, which will adapt to slightly harsher conditions.
