Opel Combo

The Opel small van is a good bet, both for travel and for work use, it has two versions differentiated by the use for which it is intended, and its price makes it more than competitive in the market
Opel Combo

The Opel Combo is another of the commercial goods transport vehicles designed and marketed by the German firm Opel. The completely renovated model has little to do with its previous versions.

The exterior of the Opel Combo

The Opel Combo is a model of a commercial vehicle for the transport of goods with characteristics quite similar to the Fiat Doblò.

However, although the differences with the Italian vehicle are very few, despite which, Opel ensures that its model has its own market niche. There are two reasons behind this argument for Opel: its good brand image and its after-sales service.

The first thing to know about the Opel Combo is that it is a light commercial vehicle that we can choose from two basic configurations. On the one hand, there is the purely commercial version, called Cargo, and for passengers, which Opel calls Tour. This variant can have seats for five or seven passengers.

In addition, depending on the versions, we can choose between two different battle lengths -of 2.75 and 3.11 meters-, and two heights -of 1.85 and 2.10 meters-. The high ceiling can only be equipped, of course, together with the short battle vehicles.

In its version for professional use, the Opel Combo is just another white van, and little can be said about its exterior design. However, in its passenger version, the Opel designers have achieved a vehicle that, although it is perfectly identifiable as a van, has a design that will not displease those buyers who are doubting between this vehicle and another rival that does not have a version commercial.

The interior of the Opel Combo

The first thing to say is that the differences between both versions, Cargo and Tour, are important. The materials and trim used are different, and in the Tour version we almost come to think that we are in a minivan designed for passenger transport.

However, the Cargo version is visually somewhat sloppy and rough. The steering wheel is made of a slightly rough plastic, and soft plastics are rare. In addition, the control panel is extremely simple, and has a central monochrome screen that does not offer us much information.

Now, you have to understand what a commercial vehicle is. These types of models are made and thought to be effective and functional, not to be showy. From that perspective, these failures lose importance.

In fact, they would lose even more importance if inside we found details that would make us think that indeed the vehicle has been designed for professional use. Although there are elements that suggest it, there are not so many as to be satisfied.

Regarding the driving position, it must be said that the steering wheel is adjustable in height and depth in all versions. For its part, the basic seats allow you to get in and out of the cabin with ease. This is appreciated when this operation is carried out many times a day, but not so much when traveling on a curvy road.

The engines of the Opel Combo

The Opel Combo will be able to count from the moment of its commercialization with a quite extensive range of engines. Specifically, it s six were available engines, including diesel, gasoline and a version

New Opel Combo.

In addition, it should be noted that all engines can be chosen in their most efficient version, called by Opel ecoFLEX. This technology, in addition to some other measures, includes the automatic stop and start system of the engine Start / Stop.

Regarding the range of diesel engines we find four options. In the first place, the already mentioned 1.3 of 90 CV, with 4.8 liters of average consumption. Then there is the 90 hp 1.6, with 5.6 liters, and the 105 hp 1.6, also with 5.6 liters.

Finally, we find the 2.0 with 135 hp, which has a consumption of 6 liters per 100 kilometers. All these data are improved between one and two tenths if we opt for the ecoFLEX versions.

Opel Combo prices

Including VAT and registration tax, we can find a wide range of prices for the Opel Combo. As a cheaper option is the 95 hp 1.4 version, for a price very close to 15,000 euros. Moving up the range, we arrive at the most expensive model, with the 135 hp 2.0 engine, for a price of 22,375 euros.
