Van, minivan, tourism, urban. Several concepts brought together in one vehicle. Combined design between the PSA and Fiat SpA groups through Sevel, the joint factory maintained by both consortia. The Peugeot Bipper Tepee is the small version of the “ludovolumen”.
It can also be defined as pragmatic and functional. It dispenses with luxuries and details that go beyond the traditional experience of driving a vehicle. Its gadget section is limited to an FM / MP3 radio with a CD tray.
Quite a little brother
Other van models such as the Partner Tepee or the Peugeot Business Traveler offer a robust exterior image. But the Peugeot Bipper Tepee uses its smaller dimensions, to show a more ‘friendly’ face.
Full of style, it is a car that, without fuss, seeks to stand out. Wavy lines to go from rough cuts and convey smoothness. Among its finishes it offers, like its older sister, the Partner Tepee, an Outdoor version with the bumper in black.
Known for its dimensions
But one of the details that most falls in love with users is its small size combined with a more than outstanding use of interior space. It is 3.86 m in length, ideal for urban commuting without suffering from the stress of parking that some SUVs or larger vans generate.
Inside, enough space for five adult passengers to travel in total comfort.
Accessing the interior of the car is extremely easy for the rear seat occupants. This thanks to one or two sliding doors, depending on the version, which allow entry into the cabin in a practical way.
If the transport of luggage and packages is required, it has 356 liters of capacity under the tray. If you need even more space, the capacity can be expanded to 884 liters up to the roof and the rear seats folded down. If the rear row of seats is removed (a task that is also quite simple to perform), the final capacity rises to 2,500 liters.
To allow cargo to enter the interior of the car, a tailgate or two asymmetric swing doors (60/40), depending on the version. To make things even simpler, the distance from the ground to the edge of the trunk is just 54 centimeters.
Peugeot Bipper Tepee: mechanics and engine
To move this compact van, the engine option is only one: HDi diesel, 1.3 liters capacity and four cylinders in line, with a power of 75 horsepower. It can develop a maximum speed of 155 kilometers per hour, unloaded and manned only by the driver.
This machine can be combined with a five-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed piloted automatic.
Finishes
The Peugeot Bipper Tepee offers four lines of finishes according to the level of equipment and technology. These are Acces , Active , Special Series Style and Outdoor . The basic version has an airbag for the driver’s seat and stability control. To access the trunk of the vehicle, asymmetric swing doors with 180 ° opening.
The active model adds, among other elements, a central locking system with remote control and front and side airbags for the driver and passenger. As of this version, the Peugeot Bipper Tepee has two sliding side doors and a tailgate.
The special active series adds MP3 Radio with CD tray, plus Bluetooth hands-free kit and USB port. It also includes Air Conditioning, aluminum wheels and fog lights. To fix luggage on the roof, it has two longitudinal bars.
Finally, the Outloot version, the highest range within the Bipper Tepee, includes a speed regulator, but without the limiter option. It also has an on-board computer.
