GT Vision Concept, unleashing the imagination

Since 2013, and thanks to Poliphony Digital, the famous Gran Turismo video game saga has had numerous prototypes developed by the best-known manufacturers exclusively for the desktop game. They are known as GT Vision and only a few have ever materialized, but what are they?

The GT Vision are prototypes designed without any limitation, without being governed by any regulations. Both the appearance, the propulsion method and even the theoretical performance are chosen by the brand itself at will. The greatest example of these pieces is found in the spectacular SRT Tomahawk X.

This is the most extreme of the three models developed by the American firm, and has a body made up of active spoilers, which unfold according to the angle of turn and the force of braking. It announces 2 586 hp of power for only 750 kg. Obviously, an unreal product prepared for the console.

This collaboration began with the launch of Gran Turismo 6 for PlayStation 3, and the first to see the light was signed by Mercedes. This, in addition, was used years later in the DC Comics Justice League movie , as Batman’s personal vehicle.

The most outstanding GT Vision

Although the first prototypes developed under the GT Vision umbrella were launched in Gran Turismo 6, currently the age of this and the fact that the new installment of the series – Gran Turismo Sport – is already on sale – have caused the most new ones are only available in the latter.

Today there are more than 30 prototypes of this type, each more spectacular. It would be a joy to talk at length about all of them, but today we are going to see some of the most impressive.

Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo

So far, the prototype signed by Audi is the latest to join this extended family. It does so twice, and it is that a hybrid variant and a completely electric variant have been designed . According to the official statement, they were inspired by the 1989 Audi 90 IMSA GTO for their design .

The hybrid model combines a V6 engine that powers the rear wheels and an electric motor for the front axle. This achieves a total power of 1,292 hp and the highly efficient Quattro all-wheel drive .

Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo

The project of the Italian-French brand arrives at the 24 Hours of LeMans in 2015 with a threatening prototype, which also advanced the lines of what would be its new sports car, the Bugatti Chiron. Dressed in the colors used by the manufacturer in competition since its inception, the Bugatti Vision GT is plated to the old school.

Under its bodywork aerodynamically worked to the extreme hides a conventional mechanics for what the prototypes of this saga distill. No electric motors or other similar elements. Bugatti opted for the brute force of a W16 block and 1673 hp, which is capable of reaching 447 km / h.

Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo

In recent years we have witnessed the growth of the Korean manufacturer’s racing sentiment. Following its return to the WRC, Hyundai has set out to embarrass established German brands when it comes to sportsmanship. Proof of this is the new Hyundai i30 N, a direct enemy of the Golf GTI and the like.

To demonstrate the potential of the new sports division of the brand, Hyundai showed in 2017 – coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the brand – a prototype that showed what a car ready for the World Endurance Championship prepared by the brand in 2025 would look like. A declaration of intentions.

On a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, with faired wheels and exhaustive aerodynamic work, we find a unique propeller powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. The batteries are capable of delivering up to 680 hp, to which are added 204 hp of energy recovered from braking.
