The OCU tells us about the cars that break down the least

When we want or need to buy a new car, one of the things we think about the most is that we want it to last as long as possible without giving us problems. To help us decide, the OCU has made a list of the cars that break down the least. Do you want to know what they are?

Which are the cars that break down the least

In the survey carried out by the OCU, some 76,000 drivers participated, many of whom agreed that having fewer breakdowns was a determining factor when buying a car, even above the price. These were the results:

German and Japanese cars

The truth is that this does not surprise us because the fame that German and Japanese cars have deservedly earned is known throughout the world. From the list drawn up by the OCU, eleven of them are Japanese or German.

Among some of the brands, Toyota, Lexus or Porsche stand out, although this does not mean that expensive cars are more reliable than the rest since we can also find Kia, Mitsubishi and Subaru models. Contrary to this, it seems that brands such as Fiat, Dodge and Chrysler, all from the same group, are among those that present more technical failures, something that they had already been dragging for years.

At the top have been positioned the cars of the Toyota brand. After decades on the market, these cars have proven to be strong and resistant and it is even heard that Toyota never break.

The simplest

Everyday cars, those that are cheaper but have the guarantee of prominent brands are also in the top positions in the survey carried out by the OCU. This happens because cars with less technology are less likely to break down. Less things, less breakdowns. Apparently it has been estimated that 4% of breakdowns have to do with  high tech.

Above all of them stands out the Toyota Yaris 1.5 hybrid, an economical and very urban car with passive safety. Its brand endorses it and ensures that it suffers fewer breakdowns than many others.

Compact

Compact cars are the most sought after by users due to their versatility and their behavior is similar on the road and in the city, giving the size in both areas. Again, among them, another Toyota stands out and takes the award, but this time the Auris, a hybrid car with very low emissions and enough horsepower to measure up.

It seems that they are luxury or not, Toyota are cars that never go through the workshop. This is a point to take into account because although its price is somewhat higher than other models with similar characteristics, it seems that in the long run it is worth it.

Saloons

For those who prefer a larger and more elegant car, while opting for all the communities and equipment are the saloons, among which one of the Toyota brand wins again.

Its most elegant model, the Prius, takes the prize in this sector with a score of 97 out of a hundred. It seems that the three percent missing is from visits to the workshop for maintenance. For everything else, buying a Toyota is having a car for life.

Minivans

These versatile family cars are becoming increasingly fashionable, and the best, the best quality and the highest profitability are always sought after. This time we are going to surprise, because Toyota is in second position, although with a tie with the Ford C-Max. This car was a success when it came on the market and it still continues to lead the charts. Amazing!
