McLaren 570GT, The Friendliest And Most Practical Face Of The British Sports Car

The McLaren 570GT is the most civilized, practical and comfort-focused version of the 570, the model classified within the initial range of the Woking firm, the Sports Series. With the changes introduced, a product has been achieved that could be considered the perfect supercar for everyday use.

Design

On the aesthetic level, the main change with respect to a McLaren 570S is in the rear. Now the engine cover has been replaced by a glass window and side opening that gives access to a new trunk. This change affects the aerodynamic flow, so the rear wing has been positioned 10mm higher to compensate.

Another important change is the roof. Carbon fiber gives way to a panoramic glass roof available in three configurations: soft tinted, dark tinted and photosensitive. The glass roof helps to increase the brightness and feeling of space in the cabin.

Leather, leather and more leather

The cabin of the McLaren 570GT has been overhauled with the aim of increasing ride comfort and the feeling of luxury. The entire dashboard, the roof, the seats and even the rear boot are lined in Nappa leather and, optionally, Alcantara.

With painstaking work, McLaren has increased the sound insulation, thus reducing the sound coming from the exhaust and even equipping specific tires to reduce rolling noise. All the changes are aimed at guaranteeing the best experience for your passengers.

The changes have reached such an extent that work has been done at the chassis level to reduce its vibrations. The McLaren Audio Plus sound system, optional on other models , has also been included as standard. In this case, a Bowers & Wilkins signature 12-speaker system is available.

As we discussed, a second cargo area has been added behind the seats. This has a volume of 220 liters, and McLaren offers a set of suitcases with which to make the most of this space, which is provided with leather straps with which to keep everything in place.

In the mechanical section there are no changes. The McLaren 570GT maintains the V8 3.8 biturbo engine that offers 570 hp and 600 Nm of torque, with which it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 328 km / h.

For its part, the suspensions have received new settings, 15 and 10 percent softer on the front and rear axles respectively. This is so due to the positioning of the car, not so sporty and more long-distance grand touring. Be that as it may, the brand offers an S package with which the 570S settings are maintained.
