The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera arrives on the market as one of the sporty and most exclusive versions of the Aston Martin DB11 model. Like other cars of the firm, this new model is faithful to the design and style that have characterized these vehicles throughout their history.

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera exterior design

At first glance the exterior design of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is different from the Aston Martin DB11. In this sense, the new design for the side skirts stands out, as well as the different air vents located on the front wheels.

Another of the most interesting aspects are the four exhaust outlets and the design of the central mouth, which is based on other classic models such as the DB AR1.

The materials of this new model are considerably lighter, which is why the firm was able to reduce 72 kilograms of the total weight of the vehicle, taking the total weight below 1,700 kilograms.

Both the roof and the hood of the Superleggera are made of carbon fiber, unlike the DB11, which is made of aluminum to make the whole more light.

Another of the most important aspects regarding the exterior design is the rear aerodynamic diffuser, which together with the intakes that are in different areas of the bodywork and the spoiler generates a negative force of up to 180 kilograms.

Interior design plus extras and habitability

The interior of this spectacular car is an excellent reference of what quality and elegance mean. The finishes of the Superleggera are absolutely impeccable and with high quality materials.

As for the seats, the car has space for four passengers, although the two rear seats are very small, so that only children will be able to access comfortably. With regard to the front seats, these are quite comfortable and have a classic sporty design.

Regarding the instrument panel, it varies considerably from the DB11 model. In this case, the frame is much more minimalist and concentrates some of the main functions in just three pieces, unlike the classic group of instruments framed as in the most iconic cars of yesteryear.

This car also has new shock absorbers, which can be managed through an electronic control in which there are up to three positions to choose from.

As for the extras, these do not vary much from the DB11 model. In this sense, the Superleggera has access to the vehicle and keyless start, a modern multimedia system with access to the browser and Wi-Fi.

Also noteworthy is the Bluetooth connection, heated front seats, various cameras that generate an overhead view, digital instruments and different position memories, among others.

Engines and dynamic behavior

This new model has a V12 12-cylinder biturbo engine. With this engine it is possible to reach up to 725 horsepower with 900 Nm of maximum torque through its displacement of 5.2.

Up to 2,200 revs the car responds slowly. However, when from that moment on the acceleration shoots up and takes an impressive jump when it reaches 4,000 rpm.

Another novelty of the Superleggera is the new automatic gearbox, which has 8 speeds and is signed by ZF. It also has a height specified in the DBS on the suspension kit.

We must also mention the carbo-ceramic brake equipment, which improve their performance considerably.

All the new aspects at the level of engines and design have allowed the vehicle to reach a speed of 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.4 seconds; the maximum speed is 340 kilometers per hour.

Price

This new car is the third in the plan known as ‘7 cars in 7 years’. With this, the brand hopes to completely renew itself and soon launch the first off-road model on the market. Meanwhile, this year the new Superleggera is unveiled, with a market price, including taxes, of € 313,600.

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is, without a doubt, one of the best sports cars to hit the market in recent years.

With premium finishes, an extremely powerful engine and a design that maintains its essence and reminds of the classics of yesteryear, the new Superleggera promises to rank very well among fan preferences.
