Audi RS3
The Audi RS3 is undoubtedly one of the most special products in the sportiest range of the firm with the four rings. Currently on sale is the restyling of the second generation of this compact sports car, which squeezes its engine up to 400 hp for a car just over four meters long.
It is one of the most sporty compacts in history, and it is that with such power it rivals the Mercedes A45 AMG of equal power, while BMW has not yet passed 360 hp in this segment, with the M135i and the M2 . Available in both a five-door Sportback body and a four-door sedan, let’s see what this pocket sports car offers us.
Two bodies available
On the exterior level, the RS3 receive us with a specific body kit for this version, in which the large front air inlets and the honeycomb structure that the singleframe grill exclusively uses for this version stand out.
It should be noted that, as in the rest of the A3 range, it has optional headlights with LED and Matrix LED technology as an option. In addition, two exclusive colors are available on the sedan.
The profile of the RS3, in either of the two configurations, features mirrors with imitation aluminum housings, new side skirts and several exclusive designs for the rims. As for the rear, we receive a new spoiler that in the case of the sedan is a small lip on the tailgate, while the bumper, more bulky, has a generous diffuser with a large double exhaust outlet.
Very sporty interior
Regarding the interior, we are greeted by sports seats with semi-bag aesthetics and a sports steering wheel with a flattened bottom. The Virtual Cockpit comes standard on this model , as do numerous state-of-the-art technologies. However, despite all these elements, the atmosphere that is breathed inside is still sober for what is expected in a model of this caliber.
400 CV for 60,000 euros
In the technical section, the Audi RS3 has also seen its mechanics improved after the last update introduced in 2017. Its engine, a five-cylinder 2.5 TFSI has seen its power increased to 400 hp and 480 Nm of torque, while the gearbox 7-speed S-tronic automatic and Quattro all-wheel drive are the only options available on this variant.
With these credentials, it is not difficult to imagine how easy it must be for the RS3 to accelerate to 100 km / h from a standstill in just 4.1 seconds; And let’s not say continue accelerating to its maximum speed, 280 km / h.
This engine announces an approved consumption of 8.4 l / 100 km, but on a day-to-day basis it is much more realistic to think of a consumption that is around 10 liters on average. If you look at the pricing policy, the RS3 sedan is a markup of almost 2,000 euros over the Sportback.
