Within the range of any self-respecting manufacturer there must be passionate models, far from mass production and high profits, and at Audi this is no exception. With a halo product like the R8 for the wealthiest, the Germans propose a smaller and more practical sports car, the Audi TT RS.

The Ingolstadt people have created this very special car for the most demanding public who have a need for a relatively ‘large’ space and want a fast car. Developed by the Audi Sport department, it is one of the brand’s most interesting products in the compact segment. Beware, it is more than an exclusive RS3.

A 10 in external appearance

On the aesthetic level, the TT RS makes use of an exclusive body kit that gives it a much more aggressive appearance, in line with the vehicle’s performance. In addition, all the improvements made by Audi Sport in this section are functional, which gives an idea of the intentions with which it was developed.

The front is now dominated by an exclusive grill with the Quattro logo in the lower area, larger air intakes to cool the engine and redirect air to the brakes, as well as an exclusive splitter .

The side view stands out for the widened wheel arches and the huge 19 or 20-inch wheels, even more striking for a car just over four meters long. As for the rear, the prominent  fixed spoiler is striking,  available in carbon fiber if desired.

Finally, a large functional diffuser with two large exhausts adds the icing on the cake. It should be noted that the TT RS was the first model of the brand to make use of OLED technology in the taillights.

Technology and minimalism

For its part, the interior differs from the rest of the TT range due to the use of sporty semi-bag seats  , a sportier steering wheel with the integrated start button, the Virtual Cockpit with exclusive functions and materials such as carbon fiber for the moldings.

Explosive engine

Mechanically,  the TT RS makes use of a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine, a somewhat peculiar configuration but which gives a total output of 400 hp to all four wheels thanks to the Quattro traction. For its part, the change is a 7-speed S-tronic automatic as the only available option.

The data is overwhelming: it reaches a maximum speed limited to 250 km / h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.7 seconds, figures worthy of higher-caliber sports cars and, therefore, more expensive.

That this does not lead to confusion, the Audi TT RS is expensive, very expensive. Rates start from 79,920 euros for the Coupé version. For its part, the TT RS Roadster is available from 82,930 euros.
