BMW X6 M, Power And Style In SUV Format

At the top of the range of BMWs signed by M Motorsport are the two largest SUVs of the brand. We are talking about the X5 M and X6 M, and they are postulated as two of the most effective sport SUVs on the market.

In addition, in the case of the X6 M, its distinctive coupe air with its pronounced roof drop is added to the equation, which perfectly matches the pretensions of this peculiar car. Its main rival is the Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupé, as there is no other vehicle with similar aesthetics and performance on the market .

Exterior design

Disregarding the coupe-type bodywork, the changes made with respect to a conventional X6 are the same that can be found in the performance variant of the X5.

With this we refer to the new front with more aggressive bumpers and larger air intakes, the new exclusive grill and the more aerodynamic mirrors. The changes are completed with new side skirts, widened wheel arches, 20 and 21-inch wheels, rear spoiler and diffuser with four exhausts.

Sportier interior

Once in the cabin, the first thing that catches your eye is the new sports steering wheel exclusive to cars signed by M Motorsport, which has integrated aluminum paddles. For the rest, the aluminum driver’s footrests and the additional information provided by the dashboard are new.

Be that as it may, a vehicle of the caliber of the X6 M offers us an almost unlimited number of customization combinations for the interior, between colors and materials, so it is possible to configure a unit to our liking in every detail.

Motor

In the mechanical n you find the same engine bearing the X5 M, which in turn is the same as the BMW M5 sedan carries, although the latter equipped with an evolution that raises its power to 600 hp. In the case of the SUV, the V8 TwinPower Turbo is left with 575 hp of power and 750 Nm of torque.

With these figures it is able to sign a 0-100 km / h in just 4.2 seconds and a limited top speed of 250 km / h, partly aided by the xDrive all-wheel drive and transmission. We are talking about an eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox.

Rates

The price that BMW asks for the X6 M is 143,600 euros, which is a supplement of 3,100 euros compared to a BMW X5 M, of which the only difference is practicality. As with its brother, in the list of options we find several very interesting extras.

If we start with the night vision system  –basic and advanced– it should be noted that it  allows us to observe objects at night from the central screen. In addition, a lane-change detector and an automatic parking system are also available. All these extras together would cost us a total of almost 4,000 euros.
