Last year was the 40th anniversary of the death of one of the greatest icons of the 20th century. The one who was known as ‘The King of Rock’  went down in history as one of the most successful singers of all time. But Elvis Presley’s cars didn’t go unnoticed either.

Despite his early death, in his 42 years of life he had time to acquire an amazing collection of cars, with an outstanding predilection for Cadillacs. Let’s see several of his huge collection:

1955 Cadillac Fleetwood

We started with the favorite among Elvis Presley’s cars, a huge American car that he painted pink and white. He was the singer’s most famous model, with whom he had numerous public appearances. It was actually a gift for her mother, but she never drove it.

The retro and carefree lines of the Fleetwood delighted the singer and many of the celebrities of the time, making it one of the most desired cars of the middle of the century.

1962 Ford Thunderbird Cabrio

This beautiful convertible was one of the best-known American sports cars of the time. It had very successful aerodynamics for an American car of that time, a characteristic that gave it the name of Bullet Bird  (bullet car).

Under the hood of this Ford was hiding a huge V8 engine that made it one of the fastest models of the moment. Surely the American star had a good time at his command.

1955 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limousine

For concert tours, where the main thing was to travel as comfortably as possible, this Cadillac was the ideal car. It had a huge space in the rear seats and had luxury details typical of a five-star hotel.

Among Elvis Presley’s cars, this was one of the most used, and he bought it second-hand. A few years ago it went up for auction in the United States and reached € 146,000 ; sure that its owner will not lose money with a jewel that has been part of the life of the great Elvis Presley.

Mercedes-Benz 600

For his long trips between concert and concert several vehicles were necessary, and the king of kings liked that his people traveled as comfortably as possible. So among Elvis Presley’s cars, a car like this Mercedes was the perfect fit for the job.

The exquisite ride quality of this huge German made the hours on the road a little more bearable, as it had a number of luxuries that are difficult to find in a car today.

BMW 507

Only 254 units were made of this exclusive German model between 1956 and 1960, so the current resale price is stratospheric. He acquired it just after finishing his military service in Germany and it was on a whim that it happened after passing through the green uniform.

It was completely restored by BMW’s Historic Vehicles division to maintain all its splendor, but it was not an easy task, as there were parts that had to be rebuilt by hand.

As a curiosity, it is not just any 507, but it was the one exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show in its presentation and later went through the London and Belgium shows.

But this BMW did not buy it new, since it passed through the hands of a pilot of the brand, with whom he competed and won several races. The use of the vehicle was considerable and Elvis changed the engine and the gearbox.

Originally, it had a 150 hp Ford V8 engine, but when it was restored it was replaced by a Chevrolet V8.
