Lamborghini, The Bravest Bull In All Of Italy

Italian thoroughbreds can boast of past and present, if there is one thing that Lamborghini stands out for, it is because it does not rest on its laurels or stop risking in its designs
Lamborghini, the bravest bull in all of Italy

Lamborghini is one of the most recognized sports car manufacturers in the world. Founded in 1963, it has emerged as a tough rival for heavyweights such as Ferrari or Porsche, with much more history in the industry. However, the passing of the years have made those from Sant’Agata Bolognese the bravest bull in Italy.

origins

Every brand has an origin and that of Lamborghini and it is the most curious. After the Second World War, its creator Ferruccio Lamborghini dedicated himself to the production of agricultural machinery, that is to say, tractors. The quality of these served him to amass a great fortune, with which he was able to access the expensive Ferrari sports cars.

To Ferruccio’s surprise, the Maranello sports cars did not enjoy the reliability that was expected for the price that was asked for them, and after several visits to the workshop, he ended up meeting with Enzo Ferrari at an event that was vital for the Lamborguini we know today. in day. This meeting ended in a tough historic fight.

Ferruccio Lamborghini left Maranello arguing that he himself would be able to create sports cars superior to Ferraris, with an Enzo laughing at him and his tractors. However, the bull’s signature was not bluffing and worked hard to create the  Lamborghini 350 GT , the brand’s first sports car.

With this sporty Lamborguini he showed what he was capable of if he put his mind to it, but the best was yet to come. A few years later, at the 1965 Turin Motor Show they would present a bare chassis of a new V12 mid-engined sports car, a declaration of intent.

It didn’t take long to meet the owner of that chassis. Months later and on the occasion of the 1966 Geneva Motor Show,  Lamborghini presented the Miura, its first supercar with all the laws, hitting the table and leaving Ferrari without response. It was then that Lamborguini made a name for itself in the industry.

Featured classics

With more than half a century behind it, Lamborghini has to its credit a repertoire of legendary sports cars that make others just as good to forget but hardly known to the most fans. Among these models with more history are the aforementioned Miura and the Countach, the purest Lamborghini to date.

The Miura has earned a place in the hearts of many for its beauty. Designed by Bertone, it is considered one of the most beautiful sports cars in history. In addition, it was the germ of the family of V12 mid-engined sports cars that still lives on with the Aventador.

For its part, the Lamborghini Countach, designed again in the seventies by Bertone, was the spitting image of automotive design of the time. Very sharp edges, flat surfaces and wedge shape. In its last years on sale it became a poster car, with wild and huge spoilers.

Current range

Under the umbrella of the VAG Group since the 1990s, the Lamborghini range has evolved into two families, the ‘accessible’ V10 and the V12. These have recently been joined by a model that breaks with tradition: the  Lamborghini Urus , a sporty SUV with a turbocharged V8 engine.

This is complemented by the well-known  Lamborghini Huracan and Aventador, V10 and V12 respectively. These are divided into various sub-models, such as the Performante and SV, in addition to their corresponding versions without a roof, better known as Spyder.

In addition to the conventional range, the Italian manufacturer has found a new vein in limited edition cars. With these, significant sums of money are pocketed in exchange for very exclusive models, which although they are based on series production models, are unique in terms of design, as is the case with the Centenario.
