The Passat has this two-liter engine with turbodiesel technology, being the most valued in the range. The novelty is that it has double supercharging and raises the power to 240 CV and the torque to 500 Nm.
On the other hand, the Volkswagen Passat has SCR technology, from the acronym “Selective Catalytic Reduction”, a system that reduces the presence of nitric oxide in the exhaust gases and makes the new mechanics comply with Euro 6 regulations.
It also highlights the 4 Motion technology, which is the name of Volkswagen’s all-wheel drive and the incorporation of the seven-speed automatic transmission DSG with double clutch. Finally, BMT (BlueMotion Technology) is the acronym for the brand’s particularly efficient models.
Squeezing the enormous torque that this Passat provides will only be necessary in emergency situations, and that is very good for consumption. According to the manufacturer’s data, consumption is set at 5.4 liters, but being realistic it will be around 7 liters per 100 km, a figure that, in any case, is magnificent for a car with 240 hp.
