• Do not have your mobile in sight. If you drive alone, there may be times when you get bored and if you have your mobile nearby you will be tempted to take it to see if a message arrived or if someone called you. Do not do it! The best way to avoid this is to keep it in your purse or glove compartment. Put on some music and drive safe.

• If you need to look at the mobile, stop. If your addiction to the mobile is such that even with it stored you cannot resist the temptation to look at it –yes, you are an addict–, stop the car in an area suitable for it and do it, but never look for it in your bag or glove compartment while driving. You life is at stake.
• If you have no choice, use a handsfree. For those who work while driving and have to carry the active phone for work, they should use an approved hands-free and make sure that if they have to make a call they can do so without touching the phone. For this, the visual intelligence systems that are added in the latest telephony models are very useful. With these you can activate a call or even ask to read an email just with your voice.
• Put a default message. If you think that not answering at the moment is a lack of education, it is not an excuse for using your mobile behind the wheel either. You can program from home on your phone a message that automatically skips when you receive a text message or a call that says for example ‘I’m driving, I’ll call you later’ or something similar.

Do not risk your life to answer a message or a call. Remember that a fine could be the least of your problems.
