What To Do When We Get Hit By The Car Window

A hit on the car window is a fact that can happen frequently. If you don’t act decisively and quickly, it can be very dangerous. Even if the impact has caused a small break, it is essential to repair it immediately.

The windows, especially the front one, are permanently under stress. The material from which they are made, the curved shape and various aspects of the circulation, are added to determine their fragility. With all this, any blow to the car window can fracture it.

• Windshields are generally laminated glass. However, the rear and side windows are not, so any break in them requires replacement.

Some precautions against a blow to the car window

If the car is circulating and a pebble hits the windshield, at that same moment the actions and precautions begin.

• Stop driving gradually, avoid braking hard.

• Reduce the difference in temperature inside and outside the car. If the moon was hit, the glass is weak and a temperature imbalance will affect it.

• Assess the state of the moon and make a decision : take it to the workshop or call the roadside assistance service.

• Do not travel very long stretches with the affected glass. The problems can be bigger.
